The Vancouver-area SOYA 300-hour yoga teacher training program is open to those with 200-hour Yoga Alliance-compliant certification. Upon completion students qualify for 500-hour registration with YA.
2019: Sept 6-8, 21-22, Oct 5-6, 19-20, Nov 15-17, Nov 30-Dec 1, Dec 14-15. 2020: Jan 10-12, 25-26, Feb 8-9, 22-23, Mar 7-8
Taught in three modules:
- Inclusive and Specialty Yoga: includes chair yoga, kids, restorative, prenatal, trauma sensitivity, props, and light assists
- Advanced Teaching Skills: Creative sequencing, building themes, voice and body language, creating effective private sessions, workshops, and retreats
- Subtle Anatomy of Yoga: study, practice and implementation of advanced energetic teachings and techniques including advanced pranayama, chakras, koshas, granthis, lokas, mudras, mantras, mythology
Program deepens understanding of anatomy and movement in relation to asana, various traditions / lineages, specialty applications, and much more.
We offer uniquely individualized, deeply transformative teacher training in small group settings. Rooted in authentic yoga traditions, our 300-hour program guides you to a deeper understanding that enables you to apply the teachings meaningfully in the present day.

Daily in-class sessions include guest teachers and detailed instruction and practice in various applications.
The comprehensive curriculum includes philosophy, meditation, mantra, pranayama, anatomy, asana, and teaching skills. Students design a series of class lesson plans and practice teaching throughout the entire program, developing confidence, expertise, and the ability to modify postures according to varied needs.
Upon completion students receive a 300-hour certificate, a letter of recommendation, and become eligible for registration with Yoga Alliance as RYT 300.
It is beneficial to register early to allow ample time for the written assignments to be completed and to ensure your place in the program.
